A down and dirty look, at the world of making money on line. The changing webscape provides a constant challenge for even the most experienced Guru’s today. The big boys and girls fight it out for the top key words, the best back links and social domination while the newbie spends another $47, $77, $97 even $1997 trying to figure out the missing prices. The truth is I am one of those newbie’s.
As a former advertising executive for a major broadcasting company, selling radio and television ads to local and regional clients I thought this would be a snap. There I am almost 1 year into my very expensive re-education and still not $1. in profit. "I was sure this last thing would work it sure sounded good! " I herd myself say. That's when it dawned on me I was going about this the wrong way. I was in the trenches making my own sites setting up my own blogs posting my own articles and there was no way I could compete. I needed to get back on the executive side of the desk and delegate.
The next time you’re listening to one of the "Gurus" listen to what there’re really saying, not just what there’re selling. They tell you the things that need to be done. They don't tell you they are doing these things themselves however. Unless there’re selling some new software they spent thousands of dollars on the do the work for them, most of the big players in this game have teams of people working for them. The real down and dirty is the majority of the work on the "millionaire's top ranked sites is done through out sourcing to a country where a college level educated young adult will do quality work for $2.00 - 5.00 an hour.
I can not tell you how many webinars I sat through in the past three months but I can tell you this. It gets to be ridiculous when you sit through one on Monday that swears there are only 30 spots available with 1000 people in attendance. Then the same guy is on Tuesday hosted by another Guru and magically there are still 30 spots left. Of course then over the next three days the replay of the events feels sorry for those that missed out so they opened up 30 more spots.
I look forward to 2011 as the year when the playing field becomes one that even someone new just looking to put a little extra away for a rainy day can compete. I have noticed many of the e-mails I received at the end of 2010 spoke ill of the endless amount of product releases and how the little guys where getting tired of buying and needed to be able to make some money.
I have learned a lot from all the programs and software I have purchased and put to the test but I am sure the only thing I was unable to accomplish was to keep up with the massive scale of production needed to compete. I have come to reality and will change my approach in 2011 so I too can become A Steady Online Money Maker.
